Guys, check out the portrait of Emma Watson (heroine of Harry Potter series), I received tremendous appreciation in the exhibition held between 23rd October to 25th October.

Spent around 30 hours of drawing, shading and staring...

I titled this as Friends! I enjoyed working on this drawing, it was difficult though to do more than one drawing in a same layout.. 

But am glad that it was liked by everyone...

Chennai Open, Nungambakkam

WOW! This is a wonderful feeling, me and Karthik decided to play at Nungambakkam SDAT where Chennai Open happens every year, which is the first ATP tennis event of the calendar year.

They charge 200rs for a court, it was really economical when compared to other club courts, where they charge 100rs per person, if we play doubles then we have to pay 400rs for 1 hour. But here its completely different, if we play doubles then we just need to pay 50rs per person. Sounds great right?!

We reached the Stadium at 9.50am, and booked the 10am to 11am slot, the day was very hot, but for us it looked very pleasant to play in that beautiful blue court... We played 2 sets, we felt very difficult to play not just because of the hot weather, but because of the synthetic court, as we used to play only in clay court (hard clay), this experience was different, though i won both the sets by 6-2, 6-0, to be honest Karthik didnt play to his potential as he twisted his ankle thrice because of his new Reebok shoes.

After our matches, we went to see the Grand Stand, it looked huge, we stood in the middle of the court and starred at the Massive Stand, it was spine chilling experience.. We were asked not to click photographs of the Grand Stand because of security reasons, but we clicked using Karthik's iphone. We even sat at the chair where Nadal sat during his last visit to Chennai Open.

But we decided to play frequently here, next we might be playing with Parthy too...

I would say its really worth for the money we spent..

League Club

It was a long time plan between me and Deepak to play against each other in a singles battle of Tennis. And finally we decided to play on 8th Aug, Deepak fixed up the slot with the League Club for 6.30 pm, as soon as we reached by time at League Club, we paid 150 rs each (300 rs). They charge 150 rs for flood lits and 100 rs for the day time. The court was busy with the regular members, so we were asked to wait till 8 pm.

Finally, we started by 8 pm, it was a tough 1st set, took around 45 mins to complete the set, i captured the 1st set by 7-5. We had a break after that for 2 mins (water break). I strongly started the 2nd set with a lead of 3-1, then Deepak made 2-3 with his service game, I was 3-2

ahead with a break in hand. But we stopped the game as they called TIME. I was declared as the winner. But Deepak played well!!!

Overall we enjoyed an exhaustive match in spite of paying 300 rs.

East West Resort (1st Aug 2009)

Guys, here we go...

Bright sunny day, a wonderful trip, with some stunning close cricket matches, and some breathtaking swimming performances from our guys...

After a week long planning, more than 35 mail follow ups, suggestions, change in plan, whether to go with family or without family, finally we decided to go without family..
The idea of resort trip popped up on 27th July, during Parthy's son (Ajay) 1st year birthday. While we were planning for the location, Mrs. Gary (Bharathi), Mrs. Deepak (Aarthi) and Mrs. Parthy (Vidhya) showed their interest to get along with us for the trip, they were keen to come with us.. So, at that moment we decided to go for a first ever Family get togther...

Soon, the plan was demolished by Ganesh, he didnt show any interest, and finally when Deepak said that his wife Aarthi is unwell, and it was a blessing in disguise for Gary, so we finally decided to go as FRIENDS ALONE trip.

After that, the discussion was about the venue, our Karthik (Cellman) suggested a place in Sriperambadur, he sent us the website link of the resort, named as East West Resort/ Coromendal Resort. The website looked international facility... we were all mesmerized by that website, soon Karthik and Gary spoke to the Marketing Manager of the Resort, he told us to come directly as they have everything in the resort... Whereas Parthy suggested Thada falls.. (but we decided to go next week)

We planned our trip initially on Sunday, Aug 2nd (Friendship day), but then finally it was preponed on Saturday, Aug 1st. (Thanks to Cheenu), it was a wonderful move as everybody were comfortable on Saturday rather than Sunday, so that we can have a rest day!

We decided to leave early this time, so planned to leave Gary's place by 11am. Deepak, Lux, Aazhaku, myself and Gary, we all left by 11am by Gary's Car (Hyundai Santro). Thanks to Deepak, he brought a fantastic collection of MJ songs. We started with the 'Beat It' song with thundering volume... the sound effect was excellent inside the car.. and Gary did some MJ steps while driving.. We reached Karthik's place, he resides at KK Nagar, picked him up (Recently Karthik has been suffering from severe back pain, Get well soon Karthik), i know that there wont be enough space, so i took his Pulsar 180CC bike and we all reached Parthy's place (Nesapakam), where Cheenu was waiting for us...

Without delaying further, we decided to start, we took 2 vehicles to be more comfortable, Parthy drove his Tata Sumo, we 5, Parthy, Lux, Cheenu, Karthik, Myself, we all went in Parthy's Sumo (the same group went for the forest trip, so we were recollecting our forest trip, cracking jokes...) and the KUDIKARAN group comprises of Gary, Deepak and Aazhaku went with Gary's Car.

On the way near Sriperambadur, we had our lunch at Sangam Chettinad Restuarant, (anga oru super figure paathom). Then we reached the destination at around 2pm. Gary, Karthik and Deepak went for negotiation, but later on we came to know, that the resort has nothing except for Swimming pool, rest all humbug. No Tennis Court, No Badminton Court, No Table Tennis Board, No Carrom.. rather they had Camels, Horses, Emu (a large non flying bird similar to Ostrich, there were around 23 Emus)

The Manager told us to pay 200 Rs per head and to use whatever facilities they have (though they have nothing), we finally negotiated for 100 Rs per head (Really, it was a good deal), but we saw an almost nice cricket ground... we brought our own stumps, bat and tennis ball (apart from that we brought 4 badminton racquets, 4 tennis racquets, 4 TT racquets, but we didnt use either of these..)

So, the team was decided..
Team 1: Parthy, Lux, Joe, Karthik (relatively unfit, but still he attempted to play)
Team 2: Gary, Deepak, Cheenu, Aazhaku

Match 1: Team 1 played first, we set a target of 23, but we lost, Deepak played well in that match.
Match 2: Team 2 played first (Winners first), they set a target 14, Team 1 surpassed in 1.4 overs.. (2 sixes and 1 four), Parthy 1 six & 1 four/ Joe 1 six.
Match 3: few were exhausted, but still we continued to play, Team 1 scored just 7 runs (one stage it was o for 3), Team 2 easily finished the match..
So, finally Team 2 captured the series 2-1, but it was interesting, there were some nice transfer of good words between Deepak and Lux, but we all enjoyed it...
It reminded our IC matches...

Soon we decided to plunge in, so we rushed to the swimming pool, we had some nice games inside the swimming pool, Parthy and Gary were the Goal Keeper, rest of the guys had to overcome their block... these biggies emerged as the winner... it was fun, meantime we ordered snacks, within seconds the plates were empty...

We were almost there in the pool for 1 hr and 15 mins, at around 6pm, we came out from the swimming pool.. clicked some photos, left from the Resort at around 7pm, though it wasnt a complete enjoyment, but still it was enough for us to enjoy...

On the way, we had our dinner at Kumarakom (nice Kerala Restuarant), chumma pasanga poonthu vilayadinanga... the bill was 1430 Rs. (but it was not that expensive)

We reached Parthy's place, Cheenu left from Parthy's place as he parked his bike there, Karthik left in his bike, and the rest of 5 guys went by Gary's car, with again thundering volume of 'Beat It' song and few other MJ songs.... (Paavam Lux, thala vali oda andha kodumaiya sagichitu irundhan)

Thats the end of our yet another wonderful trip... I would like to thank each and everyone for showing their interest upon this trip..

We miss the rest of the guys like Manik, Naina & Dhadi..

My dream is to go for a great trip with our entire set of guys...

Guys, hope you liked my drawing! Am a huge fan of Roger Federer, i never use to support Rafa, but he is a very nice person on and off the field, i respect him very much especially after the victory over Roger Federer in Wimbeldon '08.
Rafa said in the post press meet that he has to suppress his enjoyment after seeing Roger crying in disappointment, they both are very good friends...
I spent more than 20+ hours to finish off this drawing, i am satisfied with my performance...

I thoroughly enjoyed the experience while drawing this subject.

Cute Yawn

Guys, check out my recent drawing. I did the same drawing for a competition and got the 2nd prize. So, thought of doing it again to upload in my deviant art site.
Am so happy that i could do a decent job.

Beach Party Resort Trip on 17th Jan 2009

Guys, 17th Jan 2009 day was yet another memorable day in our life. Because, after a long time we regrouped at IC.

But, before regrouping at IC, we played underarm cricket at Gary's appartment for an hour. Then we all together went to IC to meet Mani.

We clicked few group photographs.

Then we headed towards the Beach Party Resort minus Manik, as he wanted to spend his rest of the holidays with his family members, a genuine reason.

Gary and Anand sat at the rear side of Parthy's Sumo, only later Parthy came to know that these guys planned to sit behind just to gulp the beer bottles which they were carrying. Parthy didnt allow these gimics to work, strictly told them not to drink inside the Sumo.

They didnt have anyother options apart from closing the bottles. For Gary and Anand, those were the toughest moment in their life looking at the closed beer bottle. They both were cursing Parthy.

Finally we reached the Beach Party Resort, earlier called as Aristrocat Resort. We picked up the stumps, bat and tennis ball then started playing Cricket. But i should say, though so many years passed by, but still we guys played really well, especially the swing done by Parthy was amazing, Chaathukudiya puzhiyara madhiri puzhinju oru ball poduvaanae, chancae ill...

We also decided to play double wicket, in that Gary was dropped because of his poor performance in his previous matches. So, we asked him to click photographs while wicket keeping. He did a good job by not keeping behind the stumps but with the camera.

Then we went to the Pool, as usual Gary and Anand had a gulp before getting into the Pool. One hour we walked inside the swimming pool, later had snacks worth 1000 rs. (heights of spending)

Then we played TT, Parthy was the clear cut winner, thrashed everyone with his blistering forehand. No one survived from his ruthless game. By the time Gary and Anand had an other round.

We said bye to the resort and then reached our all time favourite Kart Racing. Again Gary and Azhaku finished off two more rounds.

From there we reached a Chettinad Hotel had enough dinner, by the time Gary was almost flat, he couldn't walk steadily.

Finally, we reached Gary's appartment, dropped him next to his door and we all reached home safely.

Though it was a short trip, but really a fantastic one, we really missed the presence of Dhadi, Deepak, Naina and Manik.

My dream is to have an outing with no one to spare in our group, and am sure the fun and frolic will be unlimited.

I should really thank Lux, for taking so much of pain to reach Chennai and left on the same day to Bangalore. Lux, hats off to you....
